The strongest element of the game is the base-building aspect. Unlike many RPGs where a "house" is just a place to sleep, your home in Raana is a functional asset.
A workshop is only as effective as the people running it. To reach peak performance, you must carefully assign roles based on specific attributes:
: Automatically converts collected "Merchandise" loot into raw materials for your Resource Inventory. This requires at least 100 units of Merchandise and active workers.
The game utilizes a robust skill system. Your character is not a hero from the start; you are weak and broke. Training skills (Combat, Engineering, Domestic, Social) takes time and resources. This creates a satisfying gameplay loop where you venture out to scavenge, return to your "workshop" to craft and train, and then venture out again stronger than before.
This is a slow-burn game. If you prefer fast-paced action or instant gratification, Master of Raana will frustrate you. Gathering the resources to upgrade your workshop or pay off your initial debt requires repetitive tasks (farming, mining, running generic errands). The game demands patience.
