The Sony logo bloomed against the dark. A familiar chime, like a lullaby from another life. Then, the splash screen: a Rathalos soaring over a verdant cliff, its shadow cutting across a hunter in battered leather armor.
The PSP was gone. In its place was a single, cracked, unplayable UMD of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite . He didn’t own a UMD drive anymore. He hadn't for years.
