Allegiant Part 1 ✮
Allegiant Part 1 is a handsomely mounted but fundamentally flawed return. It features solid acting and better visuals than its predecessors, yet it is fatally undermined by a bloated runtime and the cynical, outdated decision to split the finale in half. Hardcore fans of the book will find moments to appreciate, but casual viewers will likely feel the same way Tris does by the end: tired, betrayed, and uncertain if the journey was worth the wall they had to climb.
