After establishing the twins’ differences, the film doesn’t do anything truly clever with the "twin switch" premise. A much more interesting version of this film would have had Kurian slowly becoming like Derrick, or Derrick learning Kurian’s restraint. Instead, they remain archetypes—the angry avenger and the peaceful victim.
This marked the directorial debut of Shaji Padoor, who had worked as an associate director for many years prior. Reception and Style REVIEW 612: ABRAHAMINTE SANTHATHIKAL
The trigger is a personal tragedy that pushes Derrick to the edge. He abandons police protocol to seek vigilante justice, only to find himself trapped in a web of corruption, caste politics, and his own brother’s unexpected role in the system.

Die-hard Mammootty fans and those who appreciate the first half of a good family drama. Those seeking a realistic police thriller or a tight legal drama should look elsewhere.
The narrative follows (Mammootty), an honest and fearless IPS officer known for his uncompromising professional ethics. The story begins with a gripping serial killer investigation involving victims from specific families and biblical clues left at crime scenes. If there is one thing Malayalam cinema has mastered in recent years, it is the art of the "New Generation Mass movie." We moved away from the loud, punch-dialogue heavy action films of the 90s and early 2000s into a space of realistic thrillers. But every once in a while, a film comes along that bridges the gap—giving us the adrenaline rush of a mass hero entry while keeping the narrative grounded.
Abrahaminte Santhathikal (translated as Descendants of Abraham ) is a 2018 Malayalam action-crime thriller that remains a significant entry in the filmography of megastar Mammootty. Directed by debutant and written by Haneef Adeni , the film is a stylish investigation drama that balances high-octane "mass" elements with a deeply emotional core. Plot and Synopsis
Derick takes charge of the investigation, but this isn't just a hunt for a criminal; it is a journey into his own past. The film weaves together themes of brotherhood, betrayal, and the weight of lineage—true to its title. Without giving away spoilers, the emotional core of the film rests on the relationship between Derick and his younger brother, Philip (played by Anson Paul).
