If torqued to structural bolt preload levels, they will yield or fracture. They are also unsuitable for dynamic or fatigue-prone environments, where the lack of controlled hardness can lead to premature thread stripping or stress corrosion cracking. Therefore, the specification explicitly states that these bolts are not for use in critical structural joints requiring high strength or controlled tension.
