To understand the repair, you have to understand the failure. A double-pane window consists of two pieces of glass separated by a spacer bar. This space is filled with air or inert gas (like Argon) and sealed tight. Often, the spacer contains a desiccant—a moisture-absorbing material similar to the little silica packets found in shoe boxes.
You can remove the sash (movable part) and bring it to a local glass shop. Many shops will measure, order the IGU, and let you install it. That’s the only DIY we recommend.
