Lincoln Peirce didn’t just wake up one day as a famous cartoonist; he put in the work. A native of Ames, Iowa, Peirce grew up on a steady diet of classic comics like Peanuts and Dennis the Menace . He honed his craft at Colby College in Maine, where he began cartooning for the school paper. He later pursued an MFA in painting and drawing, but the pull of the "funny pages" was too strong to ignore.
Visually, Peirce’s style is distinct. The clean lines, the expressive eyes (often hidden behind Nate’s hair or hat), and the dynamic action in the Sunday strips make his work stand out. He captures the physical comedy of a food fight or a dodgeball game as well as any filmmaker.
