Beyond dialogue, Basara 2 Heroes features extensive UI elements, menus, and battle chyrons stored as image files (TIM2 format on PS2). The English patch required the extraction, editing, and re-injection of these textures. Because the PS2 has strict RAM limitations, replacing high-resolution Japanese textures with English ones sometimes required downscaling to fit within the VRAM constraints of the Emotion Engine (EE) processor.
