The story follows Raveendran (played by Mammootty), an uncompromisingly honest customs officer. His commitment to the law puts him at odds with Alexander (played by Thilakan ), a powerful businessman involved in smuggling and treason.
Raveendran is framed for Alexander's murder and spends nine years in prison. Upon his release, he discovers that Alexander is actually alive and has faked his death to escape justice while destroying Raveendran's family.
