Reciting Fatiha in the cemetery is a way to show respect and pray for the deceased. It's believed that the Fatiha recitation brings blessings and mercy to the deceased, and helps them in their journey to the afterlife. Moreover, reciting Fatiha in the cemetery serves as a reminder of our own mortality and the transience of life.
Kabristan Me Fatiha Ka Tarika:
Before entering, one should make a sincere intention in the heart:
The act of Fatiha is essentially a prayer. The sincerity of the heart matters more than the length of the recitation. If one cannot recite Arabic correctly, making Dua in one's native language for the deceased is also valid and accepted by Allah.
After the Quranic recitation, recite Durood Shareef (Salawat) upon the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Finally, raise your hands and make Dua for the forgiveness and elevation of the deceased's status.
