He pulled the box. It was light. He opened it.

The clerk, a woman with steel-gray hair and glasses that hung on a chain, didn't look at him. She began typing. The clacking of her keyboard was the only sound in the room.

They called it the Cazier Judiciar .

But for now, the file was closed. The ink was dry. And the story had a happy ending.

But there was no judge’s signature. No prosecutor’s stamp of Clasare (Closing). The file had been physically closed by the police on the street, but bureaucratically, it had walked into a dead end.
