Padosan is a 1968 Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by R. D. Gupta and produced by R. N. Jayashekar. The film stars Kishore Kumar, Mumtaz, and Sharmila Tagore.
The movie revolves around the life of Sakthi Chidambaram (played by Kamalhassan), a 60-year-old man who lives in a crowded Chennai neighborhood. Sakthi is a kind-hearted person who takes care of his neighbors, especially an old woman named Malar (played by Saravanan's mother, M. Saravanan not being the correct lead). One day, a new family moves in next door, and Sakthi becomes fascinated with their daughter, Mounica (played by Janhvi Kapoor). As Sakthi tries to befriend Mounica, he learns about her troubled past and decides to help her.
