There are several reasons why you might want to use AutoCAD zip files:
Look at the "Files Tree" tab to see everything AutoCAD is including (Xrefs, fonts, etc.).
Most users try to create a zip file by right-clicking a DWG in Windows Explorer and hitting "Compress to ZIP file." This is a mistake. A standard zip of just the drawing file often misses: Attached site plans, floor layouts, or title blocks.
Run the PURGE and AUDIT commands before zipping. This removes unused layers and fixes errors, significantly reducing the file size.
